Who we are
Cult of Cast Iron is run by a one-man team – and no, this is not an actual cult (well, not yet). I’m just passionate about sharing my love for cast iron cookware with others.
My obsession with cast iron cookware started because of my frustration with my parent’s continued usage of an old, beaten, and balding Teflon pan*. Because of that, I searched for more durable cookware alternatives, and cast iron pans popped up. After my wife and I saw a video of someone explaining the intricacies of seasoning a cast iron pan, we eventually bought a set of three skillets. From there, our cast iron cookware arsenal have grown through the years, and my obsession has grown so much that I want to share this thing with others.
I created Cult of Cast Iron to give you all the information you need to start your journey with cast iron cookware. However, you may also find some topics about Teflon, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other types of cookware in the blog. I strive to go beyond the superficial and support my articles with relevant scientific information. whenever possible
